WHEN LIFE LEAVES US WITH NO LOGICAL OPTIONS

God’s Word gives us strength, guidance and peace. Yet trusting God does not mean that we stop thinking about the real needs, pressures and struggles we face.

Sometimes, life brings us to situations where we genuinely do not know what the logical thing to do next is. We have considered the available options, tried what we know to try, sought advice, worked hard, prayed—and yet, there seem to be no more logical options left.

Such situations can drain us mentally, physically, emotionally and socially. They can affect our relationships, judgment, productivity and even our ability to be the effective witnesses of Christ that we ought to be.

It is a place no person would ever want to find themselves.

No parent would want their child to reach such a place. No true friend would want their friend to suffer there. And certainly, God does not delight in human suffering or want us to be crushed by circumstances.

Yet we must also understand the realities of life.

There is Satan, who seeks to cause suffering—often through the evil and wicked decisions of people—and delights in seeing people weighed down by its consequences.

There is injustice, especially where people deliberately cause others to suffer or seek to benefit at another person's expense.

There are people who lack a caring heart. There are systems that fail people. There are circumstances beyond human control. And sometimes, there are simply not enough resources, even when good people are willing to help.

Understanding these realities does not mean surrendering to them. It means recognizing that some struggles are not necessarily the result of personal failure or lack of faith.

Sometimes, despite doing what is right, praying, thinking, working, seeking help and exhausting the options available to us, circumstances can still become overwhelming.

What then do we do?

We do what we can, with what we have, where we are—and we trust God with what is beyond our ability.

Faith does not always mean that we immediately see the solution. Sometimes faith means continuing to trust God when the solution is not yet visible.

The Bible says:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5

And:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7

We may not immediately see a way forward. We may not understand why certain things are happening. We may even reach a point where our human reasoning appears to have exhausted every available option.

But the end of our logical options is not the end of God's ability.

We continue to do what is right. We continue to seek wise help. We continue to act responsibly. We continue to pray. And where our ability ends, we place what remains in the hands of God.

God is able to work for our good even in situations we would never have chosen for ourselves.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.
