TOWARDS A PERFECT VOTE.

TOWARDS A PERFECT VOTE Concerns about election integrity are raised not only in Africa but also in advanced democracies such as the United States. If nations with highly developed electoral systems still face allegations of malpractice, countries with fewer resources may face even greater challenges. Technology can improve elections, but it is not a complete solution. As systems become more advanced, so do methods of manipulation. The strongest safeguard is therefore the development of human integrity. From childhood, societies should intentionally cultivate honesty, fairness, respect for others, and commitment to the common good, so that corruption, deception, and injustice become morally unacceptable. This investment is demanding but invaluable. It produces not only better elections but also stronger families, institutions, businesses, and communities. Society's wrong doers who admit wrongdoing should have the opportunity to reform and make amends, while persistent offenders should face the law firmly, fairly, and without favoritism. Many religious traditions teach that lasting solutions come through the pursuit of continuous right-doing and the removal of evil, not by magic. Wars, conflict, and the enormous loss of lives and resources can be greatly reduced when people are raised not to harm others intentionally . Unintentional harm has long been treated differently, with forgiveness and appropriate compensation encouraged.
